Does spending time alone with your kids strike fear and panic in your gut?
At a loss when you HAVE to play with your kids - what are the rules, do I have to play whatever they want?
If you’re kids are still at the age where you’re a primary playmate, you need to think fast and improvise to keep yourself sane and entertained.
My years as a SAHD or stay-at-home-dad gave me plenty of time to figure out how to enjoy my time with the kids and make sure I didn’t go off the deep end. Consider this blog a resource for your parenting panics.
Who Am I?
I’m a creative-type father of two (boy and girl) in Colorado just trying to keep his brain fermentin’ with new ideas and fun stuff. My more interesting working roles have been programmer, manager, musician, and cabinetmaker.
What Else?
I’m a licensed ham radio op - about 25wpm Morse code (CW in the lingo) last time I was on the air. Gave it up a few years back ‘cuz I have enough hobbies already. I operated mostly mobile - in other words, I was one of those guys with the humongous antenna on the back of his vehicle, hammering out morse code while driving down the freeway. It was a blast. I also love to build electronic kits but I haven’t been able to keep the electronics theory (beyond Ohm’s law and other simple things) in my cranium.
I’m a classically-trained violinist but mostly sing and play electric bass at my church (Unitarian Universalist).
